Books are good at answers.

And if I don’t know, the team does.

The app

First, the basics.

What is Scrollverse?

An iPhone app with short Bible lessons in a feed you swipe through. Each lesson has a Bible verse, clear context and a question for you – read in about a minute.

Which Bible translation does Scrollverse use?

The app uses the German Luther Bible of 1912. It’s in the public domain and sounds old-fashioned in places – which is exactly what the context under each verse is for. The verses quoted on this English website are from the King James Version.

Which denomination is the app for?

For anyone who wants to get to know the Bible – Protestant, Catholic, free church or just curious. Whether the app says “service” or “Mass” is up to you. There are deliberately no catechism texts from any particular church; the lessons work with Bible texts that all share.

Who writes the lessons?

[Answer from the team: who writes the lessons, who proofreads them?]

Before publication, every Bible quote is automatically checked against the wording of the Luther Bible 1912.

Does the book speak for God?

No. The book explains the app and shares little bits of background – always in the first person, never in God’s place. What the Bible says is in the Bible verse. And in “Focus” reading mode, the book stays completely quiet.

Do I have to read every day?

No. The daily goal is an offer, not a must. The candle streak forgives one rest day a week, there are no loss warnings, and you can hide the streak completely in your profile. Instead of days, you can also follow a weekly goal.

Is Scrollverse available for Android or iPad?

At launch, Scrollverse is available for iPhone with iOS 18 or later. On iPad, the iPhone version runs.

Is Scrollverse available in other languages?

Not yet. The app’s content is in German for now; more languages are in the works.

Data and privacy

Your data? Stays with you. Full stop.

Do I need an account?

No. Everything you save and write is stored only on your iPhone. The subscription runs through your Apple ID.

Who can read my thoughts?

No one but you. Your notes stay on your device, there’s no server that receives them, and no analytics or advertising services. More in the privacy policy.

What happens to my notes if I cancel?

They stay. Under Profile → “Export thoughts and collection” you can take them with you as text any time, even without a subscription.

Subscription and pricing

And everything about money – out in the open.

How much does Scrollverse cost?

The app is a subscription called Plus: €34.99 a year with 7 days free, or €4.99 a month. Before subscribing, you read a whole lesson as a taster during setup. All the details are on the Pricing page.

How does the free trial work?

With the yearly plan, you can use Scrollverse free for 7 days, as long as your Apple ID is eligible. If you cancel during that time, you won’t be charged. Otherwise the yearly plan at €34.99 starts afterwards.

How do I cancel?

In your iPhone’s Settings: your name → Subscriptions → Scrollverse → Cancel Subscription. You can do this any time, at the latest 24 hours before renewal.

I have a new iPhone. How do I get my subscription back?

Open the app and tap “Restore Purchases” on the subscription page or under Profile. Use the same Apple ID you subscribed with.

Is there a weekly plan or discount offers?

No. There are exactly two plans, and the price after the trial is clear up front. No countdowns, no bait pricing.

Anything else?

Write to us – also if something in a lesson looks wrong to you.
